Award-winning horror satire K-SHOP starring Ziad Abaza ('Tyrant') and Reece Noi ('Game of Thrones')

BREAKING GLASS OPENS K-SHOP

Cannibal Horror’s North American DVD
& VOD Roll-Out Begins December 12

Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired North American rights to writer-director Dan Pringle’s cult horror thriller K-SHOP. Breaking Glass acquired rights to the film in August in a deal negotiated between Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff, High Octane Pictures CEO Galen Christy and Devilworks CEO Matteo Rolleri. The film will have a DVD and digital release through iTunes, Amazon Instant, Google Play, PlayStation, Xbox, and Vudu, as well as through local cable and satellite providers on December 5.

K-SHOP held its world premiere at the Dead by Dawn Horror Film Festival, and its US premiere at the NYC Horror Film Fest where it won Best Special Effects. The film went on to win numerous awards, including the Festival Prize at the London Independent Film Festival, and the Méliès d'argent Award at the Lund Fantastisk Film Festival. K-SHOP also played multiple festivals including MOTELX – Lisbon International Horror Festival, Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival, and the Southside Film Festival.

Described as a “cult classic” and a “twisted tale” (HeyUGuys) where “a little shop of horrors emerges in a kebab takeaway” (Times UK) and “writer/director Dan Pringle has a gift for the gruesome” (Total Film), K-SHOP stars Ziad Abaza (‘Tyrant’, Sand Castle), Reece Noi (‘Game of Thrones’), Darren Morfitt (Dog Soldiers), and Ewen MacIntosh (The Lobster).

After his father is killed in an altercation with drunken thugs, Salah's world is plunged into darkness. Forced into running the family kebab shop alone, Salah struggles to manage the increasingly rowdy nightlife. When a fight with an angry customer goes fatally wrong, he finds himself with a dead body on his hands. Having no faith in the authorities, Salah disposes of the body in the one place he knows best: the kebabs. As the shop's gullible customers devour the new recipe, Salah develops a taste for the kill and seizes the opportunity to turn vigilante, seeking vengeance for the abusive drunkards plaguing the streets.

K-SHOP is the debut feature from British born writer/director Dan Pringle. In 2009, Dan relocated to Bournemouth on the South Coast of the UK to develop White Lantern Film with Producer Adam Merrifield as a vehicle for producing thematically engaging independent feature films. In August 2016, White Lantern announced the development of Pringle’s next feature Britannica, a futuristic thriller exploring themes of immigration and national identity.

“Writer-Director Pringle has created a dazzling mix of horror and satire, sprinkled in a touch of black humor, and combined it all with cannibalism in this well-crafted diatribe on the condescending treatment of immigrants”, said Richard Ross, Co-President of Breaking Glass. “Led by a chilling and commanding performance by Ziad Abaza, K-Shop is a terrifying look at a quiet man pushed way beyond his limit.”

"I'm looking forward to unleashing K-Shop on the US", said writer/director Dan Pringle. "Our film industry exports in the UK are leaning toward big period dramas and loose-mouthed London gangster movies, so I can't wait to share a story rooted in an authentically different area of British society with US audiences."
