Dee Wallace's RED CHRISTMAS Brings Holiday Fear to Blu-ray, DVD and VOD October 17th

Craig Anderson's Holiday Horror Comes to HDArtsploitation Sets Red Christmas Under the Tree October 17thAvailable Nationwide on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD

"a tightly constructed, unapologetically nasty little thriller, given depth and weight by Wallace's interpretation of a sweet woman suffering for her past" --Los Angeles Times

"one of the most beautifully lit and photographed horror films since Dario Argento's Suspiria" --Film Journal International
Artsploitation has delivered the ultimate stocking stuffer with the home video release of the Australian horror film Red Christmas.  Veteran television director and actor Craig Anderson makes his feature debut with Red Christmas, combining the banal horror of family gatherings with the issues of abortion, feminism, ethics, religion and privacy, with a blood-splattered twist on what happens when secrets refuse to stay dead.  Following a theatrical rollout across the United States, Red Christmas will be available nationwide October 17th on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, Vudu and more.

Genre icon Dee Wallace (The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, E.T., Cujo, Critters) stars in a critically acclaimed role as the stressed-out mother of a squabbling family, gathered together in a remote Outback estate on Christmas Eve.  Their petty dramas threaten to blacken the holiday until a mysterious and deformed stranger appears at the door seeking bloody vengeance.

Dee Wallace headlines as Diane, a matriarch presiding over the gathering of her squabbling grown children on Christmas Day.  Tensions give way to terror when a deformed stranger appears at the door with vengeance on his mind.  Diane must protect her family as limbs are severed and secrets are brought into the light.

New and Upcoming Releases from Scream Factory

For the readers of this blog it is no suprise that we love the SCREAM FACTORY, the horror movie offshoot of Shout Factory. In addition to releasing some of our favorite lesser known slashers, gore films, B-movies and more, Scream Facory hosted a takeover of the Shout Factory TV channle on Roku earlier this year and provided some EXCELLENT streaming entertainment. As a thank you, we here at MOOSTERBLOG would like to turn anyone that is not familiar with SCREAM FACTORY onto some of their best, upcoming new releases. We hope you love them as much as we do.

MISERY: OUT ON BLU-RAY 11/28/17

Novelist Paul Sheldon doesn't remember the blinding blizzard that sent his car spinning off the road. He doesn't remember being nursed back from unconsciousness. But he will never forget Annie Wilkes.

James Caan and Academy Award® winner* Kathy Bates star in the bone-shattering thriller Misery, adapted from the novel by Stephen King. As Paul (Caan) recuperates from his injuries in the secluded cabin of his benefactor Annie (Bates), he begins to discover that beneath the seemingly kind and naive exterior of his self-described "number one fan" lurks a mind that is cunning, unhinged, and bent on keeping her favorite writer as her personal prisoner for the rest of his "cock-a-doodie" life ... and Sheldon must engage his savior-turned-captor in a battle of wills that will push them both to the brink.

Adapted by two-time Oscar®-winning** screenwriter William Goldman and directed by Rob Reiner (Stand By Me, The Princess Bride), Misery is considered by critics and fans (number ones and others) to be among the greatest horror-thrillers of all-time. Revisit this classic tonight with your friends ... after all, Misery loves company.

*1990: Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, Misery

**1969: Writing, Screenplay Based On Material from Another Medium, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid; 1976, Writing, Story and Screenplay Based on Material Not Previously Published or Produced, All The President's Men

MST3K: VOL. XXXIX: OUT 11/21/17

And in the end, the laughs you take are equal to the jokes they make. Contained within is the almost certainly, probably definitely, maybe unquestionably final collection of never-before-released episodes of our favorite Cowtown puppet show, Mystery Science Theater 3000. The slings and arrows of outrageous licenses have resulted in only three episodes, so we have included a disc featuring host segments of all the remaining unreleased ones. It's fitting that this volume includes Diabolik, as it was the final episode of the series. But final has a way of not being final, and one need only turn to Netflix to appreciate that. So take one plausibly last ride with our heroes on the Satellite of Love, and keep circulating the tapes!

Titles Include:

Girls Town

The Amazing Transparent Man

Diabolik

Satellite Dishes

Plus, the first 1,500 orders from ShoutFactory.com will receive an exclusive bonus disc, which will contain:

ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE: OUT 11/14/17

"Ingenious and intriguing!" - Variety

"She's a living doll!" changes from a flattering expression to a terrifying reality when a certifiably deranged maniac creates a shocking device that shrinks people to foot-high figurines!

Mr. Franz is a kindly, old, silver-haired doll-maker ... who turns people into living puppets! He then forces his human re-inventions to put on parties and sing to him! But one day, tired of being toyed with, the puppets launch an attack, and suddenly Mr. Franz finds he'd better stop playing – and start praying – because the miniature moppets are hell-bent on revenge!

Directed by cult filmmaker Bert I. Gordon (Empire of the Ants, The Amazing Colossal Man), the film features an all-star cult movie cast including John Agar (Nightbreed, The Mole People, The Brain from Planet Arous), John Hoyt (When Worlds Collide) and Susan Gordon (Picture Mommy Dead).

DAWN OF THE DEAD: OUT 10/24/17

"Bloody Good Fun." – Ebert and Roeper

Heart-pounding action and bone-chilling thrills power this edgy and frightening remake of George A. Romero's apocalyptic horror classic, Dawn Of The Dead! From visionary filmmaker Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen), this pulse-pounding jolt-a-thon stars Ving Rhames (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Sarah Polley (Splice), Jake Weber (Wendigo), Mekhi Phifer (Divergent) and Ty Burrell (Modern Family).

The world is in danger when a mysterious virus turns people into mindless, flesh-eating zombies. In a mall in the heartland, a handful of survivors wage a desperate, last-stand battle to stay alive ... and human!

THE PAPER CHASE: OUT 9/26/17

Critically acclaimed for its complex and thoughtful storytelling, The Paper Chase's third season is at long last available on DVD.

Based on the 1973 film of the same name, The Paper Chase follows a dedicated class of Ivy League law students as they navigate the trials and tribulations of law and life. Under the tutelage of Professor Charles W. Kingsfield, Jr. (John Houseman, reprising his Academy Award-winning role), the idealistic James T. Hart (James Stephens) and his classmates explore the fierce competition and intense bonds that form in a high pressure academic environment.
